French violin of Mirecourt, late 19th century

This antique French violin with a Micael Deconet model label was built approx. 1890/1900 in Mirecourt, most presumably in the world-famous workshops of Jérôme Thibouville-Lamy (JTL) in Mirecourt, as many typical features of JTL-instruments may indicate: The wide Stradivari model features flat archings, a scratched purfling and a back that was made in one piece, covered by a beautiful, antiqued golden-brown varnish. Undamaged and in excellent condition, it was worked over in our workshop and made ready to play, with a new fine quality boxwood setup. The sound of this violin is full of character, warm and bright and features excellent resonance.
