1/2 - attractive French 1/2 violin, approx. 1900

The highly elegant French 1/2 violin was handmade in the J.T.L. workshops Mirecourt at the beginning of the 20th century. The harmonious design matches the delightful varnish, which is of a shiny red-brown colour, in a perfect way. Well selected woods, the top is made of wide grained spruce, the two piece back of deeply and mildly flamed maple, contribute to the antique 1/2 violins noteworthy bright, warm and somewhat mellow sound. This good 1/2 violin is offered in very good condition, with one well repaired crack on the top and after having been given full luthier service in our atelier. A very rare and dignified instrument for ambitioned young connoisseurs, offered at a very reasonable price.
