Old German volin, oil varnish, 1940/1950's

This pleasant old German violin was hand crafted around 1940/1950, a solid instrument and an example of good German craftsmanship, that features a convincing voice. The rich orange-brown oil varnish bears some traces of use and covers the attractive one-piece back, that was made of mildly flamed maple wood, and the medium grained spruce of the two piece top. The hand of a skilled violin maker can be seen in the arching and edgework. This well preserved German violin was worked over by our luthier and is offered ready to play; it features a lstrong, clear, open and resonant sound.
