German 3/4-sized violin from Markneukirchen

This MarkneukirchenGerman 3/4 violin was made around 1920 and reflects the fine Saxonian craftsman tradition of the violin-making town of Markneukirchen in the Vogtland region. A radiant golden-brown varnish, a back and ribs of interestingly flamed maple, a well crafted scroll and small, cleanly cut sound holes all bear witness to the excellent quality of this small instrument, which was patterned after the Stradivari model. This 3/4 violin is in very good condition with no cracks. However, there are marks and many traces of use on the top of this well-played and loved instrument that are considered in the low price. The violin was completely worked over by our luthier and is ready to be played. Its bright, warm and open sound is well balanced across all of the strings and has a power to it that will make playing a great pleasure.
