3/4 violin. Elegant French "Copie de Stradivari"
This French 3/4 violin was built in the 1920s in Mirecourt on a rare, individual model. The instrument is one of the flourishing "Copie de Antonius Stradivarius Cremonensis" violins bearing the corresponding label, and the unknown luthier followed the classical pattern with sense of elegance and delicacy: The small, blackened scroll, the accurate purfling and the one-piece back made of selected flamed maple give character to the subtly antiqued instrument. Golden varnish with patina and quite intensive traces of playing with even some deeper scratches completes the style of the violin, which has been completely worked over by our luthier. It is crack-free and in immediate playing condition – an instrument with individual personality, featuring a warm, dark and mature sound.
