French 'Carel' violin by J.T.L.

This French violin with a warmly recommended sound is a 'Carel' instrument. It was crafted around the turn of the 20th century as part of the J.T.L. series in Mirecourt, and it still features the original label. This good French violin has a distinctive look with its intensive dark-red varnish suits the character of this lovely instrument beautifully, but even our professional photographs do not do it proper justice. The French-style scroll is a rich piece with an unusual and unique shape. The violin found its way to us in crackfree condition, and we meticulously set it up and made it ready to play. Its bright, clear and open sound has a sweet note in the upper registers and deserves a special recommendation for its good resonance and ringing volume.
