A solist instrument with a large, brilliant tone is this fine German master instrument that was built in 1922 by artistic violin maker Dr. h.c. Eugen Gärtner (1864-1944) in his Stuttgart atelier violin. Eugen Gärtner was a highly acclaimed master who commanded great esteem in the music world; he concentrated on creating the finest concert violins. The excellent quality of his work and materials is clearly evident in this attractive, personalized model, which is with one saddle repair on top in good condition. The top is made of exquisite spruce of a very even moderate grain, while the back is of maple with exceptionally beautiful flaming. The inordinately precise ebony purfling and the premium brownish golden-orange oil varnish give this fine violin its elegant character. We have carefully worked over this fine Eugen Gärtner violin and made it i ready to play. With its large, resonant and brilliant sound, the violin is a worthy candidate for solo performance.
