This cello bow was crafted by Gotthard Schuster and it is a top-quality Markneukirchen tradition piece with premium silver fittings. This active cello bow is highly responsive in playing and opens up a warm, bright sound which is also full of clarity and precision. Pernambuco was used for the strong and dynamic octagonal stick that bears the Schuster symbol stamp on shaft, and its refined appearance is complemented by elegant work at the head and a silver mounted ebony frog with a mother-of-pearl eye and a capsule button. This recommendable Gotthard Schuster bow is fine example of the outstanding standards set by Saxonian instrument making in the early 20th century. It honours the traditions of its historic masters such as Christian Wilhelm Knopf, who continued the work of John Dodd and François Xavier Tourte in Germany, or such as H. R. Pfretzschner, who received international recognition as an advocate of modern French style. This bow measuring 75.0 g not only has the finest fittings, it also has a perfect weight distribution: its balance point is broad and central, measuring at 24.8 cm of the 71.2 cm stick (including the button). With its blend of aesthetic and musical features, this undamaged cello bow is now ready to play after having been carefully set up at our atelier.

Like all our instruments and bows, this includes our trade-in guarantee and an optional certificate of appraisal.
