Antique cello bow from the Markneukirchen workshop Knopf, which fulfills the promise given by its origin from this renowned house: Light, powerful and with a bright, clear sound.

Cello bow built around the year 1880 - already the exceptionally high quality of the pernambuco, from which the firm, round stick of this bow is made, and the classical fittings with a high-quality ebony frog with mother-of-pearl eye and three-part leg indicate that excellent bow makers worked for the Knopf family in Markneukirchen, who had access to the best materials. Perfectly balanced with a center of gravity located in the upper half, measured at 24.8 cm of the total length of 71.7 cm including the leg, this cello bow offers the typical, active playing feel of genuine Knopf bows, which it reliably unfolds even in complicated techniques thanks to its light weight - with a bright and clear sound rich in overtones. Light playing marks on the stick and on the top of the elegant head as well as on the thumb spot do honor to this obviously much played, undamaged bow, which was checked by a professional cellist and prepared ready to play by our luthiers.
