This 3/4 violin is a German instrument of very good quality. It was built in the late 19th century and developed a beautiful antique appearance during its long history. The golden brown varnish, richly applied especially at the bottom, acquired a fascinating patina and bears near the fingerboard the traces of intensive use by excellent musicians, who were regularly playing in high positions. Obviously they enjoyed the light, warm and open sound of the instrument, which is strong and precise, with a sweet character in the upper ranges. The violin was built around 1880 and presents outstanding quality of craftsmanship with its harmonically rounded edges, fine and accurate purfling and small, precisely carved soundholes. An instrument that is yet far from the end of its musical existence, offered in best condition, checked by our luthier and immediately ready to play!
