This French small-sized violin is an extremely rare instrument, that was built approx. 1850, presumably in the famous violin making town of Mirecourt. The size is a large 1/4 size, with a corresponding bodylength of 30.1 cm. This 1/4 violin is one of the sought-after instruments that were built after patterns of Antonius Stradivari; nevertheless, only very few violins especially of this size meet comparable standards. The delicately crafted scroll, the small soundholes and the amazing, deeply flamed back and ribs are full of character. In well-preserved condition this crackfree violin reveals its age only through very few traces of use. Some worm damage is acceptable and allows us to offer this rare violin at a highly competitive price. The delicate patina, that determines its noble, antique appearance. We warmly recommend the warm sound of this special children‘s violin, that is full of character, with a soft note. It was carefully worked over by our luthier and is immediately ready to play!
