The instrument is an old French 7/8 size violin (a small fullsize). The violin was handmade in Mirecourt in the 1920ies. The instrument bears a typical modele d'apres Stradivarius label. These standard labels were used by many French makers at the time to indicate the model. The tonewoods are well selected, the two piece top of medim grained spruce, the two piece back of deeply flamed maple. The varnish is of a bright golden yellow color with only minor signs of use. The violin is undamaged, crackfree and in immediate playing condition. It has been checked and set up by our luthier with a new bridge, soundpost and strings. Der helle Lack ist von goldbrauner Farbe mit nur wenigen Spielspuren. The violins bright well-balanced sound is mild, a bit sweetish and a bit mellow.
