This quality German 3/4 violin was made in the old Markneukirchen tradition around 1920 in an unknown Saxon workshop. The top and the back of this attracive 3/4 violin show the typical medium high arching of this traditional model after Stradivarius. Delicate purfling contrasts nicely with the distinctive fine to medium grained spruce of the top; the nicely crafted scroll of the 3/4 violin is a carving of skillful style. The golden brown varnish applied on a lighter ground, characteristic of the Markneukirchen region, shows only a few traces of playing. Preserved in good condition with no repairs, this old German 3/4 violin is in excellent condition and reday to play. The sound is bright in character, warm, rich in volume and assertiveness. After a thorough workover by the luthiers in our workshop, we offer this Saxon 3/4 violin in immediate playing condition.
