This German viola bow is a quality piece of mature craftmanship that was made in Markneukirchen early in the 20th century, around 1920. The viola bow features a convenient weight of 65.7 g, with its balance-point centered, slightly shifted towards the upper half of the stick, measured at 26.9 cm including the length of the adjuster. The octagonal stick was made of good quality pernambuco wood; it features a noteworthy distribution of diameter that allows powerful yet fluid play and a precise tone. The nickel mounted ebony frog is decorated with a white mother-of-pearle eye, a classical and tasteful setup. With a widened frog at thumb position and some minor traces of use this old German viola bow is in good condition and offered at a competitive price. We recommend it as a good player and offer it ready to play after a rehair and general work-over by our luthiers.

Like all our instruments and bows, this includes our trade-in guarantee and an optional certificate of appraisal.
