Viola bow by Karl Albert Nürnberger, made around 1970 in Markneukirchen, with a powerful, warm, full sound, for professional musicians

Karl Albert Nürnberger (1906–1972) was a guardian of traditional craftsmanship during the turbulent times of the 20th century: Born into one of the great bow-making families of Markneukirchen, trained by his grandfather, the famous Franz Albert Nürnberger, and his father Carl Albert Nürnberger, he passed his master's examination in 1950 and defended the family workshop against the collectivization of musical instrument manufacturing in the GDR. This modern Karl Albert Nürnberger viola bow, one of his last works, is an expression of his craftsmanship, which matured over decades, and of the family style influenced by Ludwig Bausch. The strong to medium-strong octagonal stick is a true masterpiece, finished to a high standard with a silver-mounted ebony frog with a characteristic Paris eye, and rightly bears the renowned *ALBERT NÜRNBERGER* stamp. Preserved in mint condition, this 69.9 g viola bow from a private collection is an extremely rare piece that is perfectly suited for demanding solo performances thanks to its excellent playing characteristics and its powerful, warm, and full sound.
