Antique French viola (40.0 cm) from Mirecourt of solid craftsmanship

The viola was built at the end of the 19th century according to regionally typical models. The viola's high quality craftsmanship is evident in the carefully crafted purfling, the flat archings of the top and back, and the quality of the selected tone woods, which the light brown varnish highlights: regular medium-grained spruce was used for the top of the viola, and mildly flamed maple for the two-piece . Like all of our string instruments, the viola is crack-free and in excellent condition. It has been professionally set up and made ready to play at our violin-making workshop. This handy viola is recommended for its warm, well-rounded, clear sound, which is resonant and rich in character and volume.
