Faux gold mounted violin bow by Reichel, Markneukirchen. This beautiful German copy after E. Sartory with gold replacement is a German violin bow by A.R. Reichel, with original stamp on the stick. This violin bow was made by hand in Germany around 1950 after the war years. The soft, elastic stick with a round cross-section does not take much pressure and is made of beautiful, light brown pernambuco and plays easily and forgivingly. The light bow has a weight of 52 g and, with its perfect weight distribution, is extremely light in the hand, with the centre of gravity well in the middle of the frog. Well preserved with patina and ready to play, this violin bow of German post-war history produces a bright, open sound.
