Strong, lightweight virtuoso violin bow, Albert Leicht

With its perfect weight distribution and its strong, lightweight stick, this German violin bow is a work of outstanding quality that is appropriately expressed by the two stars by the makers stamp on the shaft. It was built approx. 1950 by Albert Leicht in Saxony. The octagonal stick plays strong and agile, it was crafted of red-brown colored pernambuco wood and features both good stiffness and a perfect weight distribution. The balance-point of the bow is sensed well-centered and is measured at 26.4 cm of 74.3 cm total length. With a total weight of 56.2 g the bow lies ultralight and very comfortably in the hand yet is not missing a strong character at play. The beautiful frog was made of premium ebony and as well as the head is the fine work of an experienced craftsman, classically decorated by a Parisian eye and white mother-of-pearle slide. Minor repairs at the ebony of the frog are considered in the price. This excellent Albert Leicht violin bow was worked over with new hair and is ready to express its warm, clear, crisp sound - especially recommended for virtuoso play. The old, undamaged but patinated winding and leather have been kept to preserve its at the moment highly ideal weight distribution.
