This fine silver mounted violin bow with original Silvestre & Maucotel stamp was made in Markneukirchen for the house of Silvestre & Maucotel and is characterized by its perfect weight, a bright, radiant tone and very good playing characteristics. Its octagonal pernambuco stick has good tension and the violin bow plays actively, agilely and produces a bright, powerful tone. The finely finished ebony frog with a Parisian eye is silver mounted with a fine three-piece adjuster. Weighing in at 60.3 grams, the perceived balance point of the bow is in the lower half of the stick. An uncritical repair to the stick near the frog seat was solidly done and is considered in the price. With its warm, bright and rounded tone violin bow is versatile and fits most violins.
