This fine antique German Knopf violin bow was fashioned of the best quality 19th century materials in Markneukirchen in the late 19th century. It is a fine German violin bow unmistakably made by a master maker of the Knopf Markneukirchen family around 1880. Its featherweight round stick is made of top-quality pernambuco, and the ebony frog of finest quality ebony features silver fittings, a mother-of-pearl eye and a silver adjuster. This fine and interesting antique Knopf violin bow has its balance point well centered, giving the violin bow extra lightness in the hand and given its good playing qualities excellent playability, suitable for strong virtuoso play. This fine antique Knopf violin bow is in excellent condition and was made ready to play in our workshop and draws a bright, ringing typical Knopf sound that is clear and resonant.
