French violin bow by Cuniot-Hury

The bow is an excellent old French Cuniot-Hury, made around 1920 in Mirecourt. The bow bears the original Cuniot-Hury stamp on shaft above the frog. The very good quality stick is round and made of nicely structured red-brown pernambuco wood. The stick is of medium strength, yet of good stiffness and elasticity as it is known for French bows. The ebony frog is nickel mounted with Parisian eye and metal adjuster. The weight is 58,2 g, the length 74,0 cm. The balance point feels to be in the middle in the hand, it is measured at 26,3 cm from the frog end...

The sound is bright, clear and strong - the bow is active and plays very nicely. Special recommendation!
