The French violin bow offered here is a simple but very good antique violin bow made around 1900 in Mirecourt (probably in the workshop of Eugene Cuniot-Hury). The strong, round stick with high tension is made of light brown brazilwood, good bow wood which was often used in France in the 20th century for the production of affordable bows. The ebony frog is nickel silver mounted with mother of pearl eye and light green-rose shimmering mother of pearl slide; a three-piece leg decorates the frog. The violin bow weighs 60.0 g and has its balance point measured towards the upper half at 26.0 cm including the little leg. An excellent, strong, active French violin bow, offered by us undamaged and ready to play, producing a powerful, clear, bright and typically French sound.
