French violin bow, made around 1890/1900 by Charles Husson, with an ideally shaped stick and high-quality nickel silver fittings.

Charles Husson (1864 – after 1915) was a French violin maker of the late 19th century who belonged to the artistic circle of François Nicolas Voirin. Trained by his father Charles Husson (1823–1872), he initially worked for Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume, then moved to Voirin after his death in 1875 and subsequently to Gand et Bernardel, where F. N. Voirin's bow model was influential at the time. The violin bow offered here was made in his own Paris workshop, founded around 1880, from extremely fine reddish-brown pernambuco, whose ideal thickness distribution attests to Charles Husson's experience in this mature phase of his work. The ebony frog is an elegant, typical piece of workmanship which, in addition to the original stamp CH HUSSON A PARIS on the stick, guarantees the authenticity of this high-quality French violin bow. Undamaged, this 64.4 g Charles Husson violin bow produces a large and precise sound that combines pleasant warmth with radiant brightness. Tested by our experts, we deliver this ready-to-play bow worldwide with free shipping, a 30-day return policy, and the Corilon trade-in guarantee.
