Made of high-quality, dark tropical wood, this bow is one of the more upscale simple French bows simply due to the exquisite material selected. The model follows the historic example of François Xavier Tourte and bears a corresponding brand stamp. Even more than this stamp, however, the extremely delicately crafted head shows that this Marc Laberte violin bow was made by an experienced hand that was familiar with the great model in detail. The round stick of the bow, which weighs about 60 g in total and has nickel-silver mounting, plays relatively softly; its center of gravity, which leans slightly toward the lower half, supports a playing technique that tends toward drawing. The warm and at the same time bright sound of this violin bow excellently picks up the characteristics of different violins with its pleasantly soft undertone.
