French violin bow by Marc Laberte, made in Mirecourt in the mid-20th century around 1940. Made of reddish brown pernambuco of fine quality, the round active stick is of medium strength but of high tension and very good elasticity. The nickel silver mounted ebony frog is fitted with a Parisian eye and a one-piece adjuster. Handsomely detailed is the head of the overall 74.2 cm long violin bow, whose balance point is at 27.1 cm from the frog's end and is sensed to be centered slightly in the lower half of the stick. The noble, warm sound produced by this beautiful Laberte violin bow is typically French, clear, warm, big, yet fluid, bright and powerful. Certificate of value included.
