German violin bow, probably Hoyer workshop, Markneukirchen c.1940

This powerful German violin bow is a very versatile bow; a strong, powerful player that was crafted in the 1940's in Markneukirchen. The octagonal stick was made of dark orange-brown pernambuco wood and features remarkable strength, yet good agilty and tension. This powerful German violin bow is a very versatile bow; a strong, powerful player that was crafted in the 1940's in Markneukirchen. The octagonal stick was made of dark orange-brown pernambuco wood and features remarkable strength, yet good agilty and tension. The balance-point is sensed well-centered, slightly inclined towards the tip and measured at 27.0 cm (incl. the adjuster), so the total weight of almost 59.0 g is perfectly distributed and the bow feels lightweight in the hand. The beautiful, classical quality and straightforward style is determined by the blank mounted ebony frog and the Hoyer sytle adjuster. Minor traces of use indicate the good playing properties of the bow, that was a convincing partner for its former musician, featuring a warm, bright, clear, powerful sound with great power. This undamaged violin bow was completely worked over and rehaired in our workshop and is offered, like all Corilon instruments and bows, in perfect condition ready to play.
