A good older german violin bow. The bow was handmade around 1950 in Markneukirchen, Germany. The bow is stamped Rich. Geipel on shaft and made in GDR under the frog. The octagonal stick is light and flexible and made of brown pernambuco wood. The balance point is in the lower third part of the stick near the frog end. The ebony frog is nickel mounted with pearl eye and pearl slide. The bow projects softly and produces a warm mellow tone.
