This violin bow was made approx. 1900 and presents itself with a stamp VUILLAUME A PARIS as a work after the patterns of the famous master from Paris, whose model is clearly evident with the characteristically shaped frog, that bears the typical Vuillaume frog slide. The strong, round stick was made of brazil wood and is rather short, as many bows from England are, but also a German provenance is possible. The balance point of the bow with a total length of 73.2 cm and a total weight of 62.3 g is in the upper third, measured at 27.9 cm including the adjuster. This bow is a nice, successfull work with quality details such as a metal headplate and a nickel mounted ebony frog. It features an excellent sound, that is large, strong and mighty.
