7/8 - antique 19th century Hopf violin

An original mid 19th century Hopf violin, originally stamped below the button. The violin follows the typical square Hopf model wit rather flat arching. The size is a small fullsize with a bodylength of 35,0 cm. The top made of medium grained spruce, the one-piece back of flamed maple. The golden-brown varnish is beautifully patinated and in very good condition. The violin has only few uncritical repairs on top and is in immediate playing condition. The sound is perfectly balanced, powerful and carrying, with a warm with a sweetish note.
