An original mid 19th century 7/8 Hopf violin, originally stamped below the button. Antique 7/8 violins are absolutely rare finds and this 19th century 7/8 Hopf violin follows the typical Hopf square model featuring rather flat arching. The 7/8 violin size is a small fullsize with a bodylength of 35,0 cm. The top made of medium grained spruce, the one-piece back of flamed maple. The golden-brown varnish is beautifully patinated and in very good condition. This antique 7/8 violin has only few uncritical repairs on top and is in immediate playing condition. The sound is perfectly balanced, powerful and carrying, with a warm with a sweetish note. Please have a look at our new 7/8 violin from the CV Selectio line.
