The J.T.L. ateliers in Mirecourt offered with the highly sought-after “Médio Fino” line solid-quality, simple instruments with very good musical properties. Correspondingly, many of the “Médio Finos” available today have intense traces of use, and examples such as this one, which is in perfect condition, are quite rare. This typical violin was made arond 1880 and is preserved in very good condition; it was made following a broad model with scracthed purfling. This French violin is very visually appealing with its gently flamed one-piece back, the antique orange-brown varnish. The sound of this truly antique violin is warm and sweet in the upper ranges, and our luthiers made it ready to play and applied a new fingerboard, new pegs, bridge, sound post, tailpiece and chimnrest.
