An extraordinary beautiful late 19th century violin. The was made in Markneukirchen around 1880/1890. The model is after Stradivarius. The top is made of regular wide grained spruce, the back a two piece back of nicely flamed maple. The antiqued varnish is especially beautiful and nicely patinated. The varnish is of a golden/brown color over a golden ground. This good German violin is undamaged with no cracks or repairs. The violin has a new setup with a fine new luthier-made bridge, a new soundpost, a new tailpiece and it is stringed with a new set of Pirastros. It is in immediate playing condition. The German violin has a charming warm sound of very good volume and power. The tonal character is warm, a bit mellow, a bit dark, full. The violin projects well and is nice and convenient to play.
