German "Maggini violin" of the 1880s with purfling ornaments, made in Markneukirchen in Saxony. The violin is a tonally good and visually very appealing antique stringed instrument. Its appearance is determined by good tone woods, quality medium grained spruce of best wood selection, from which the top is made, and fine maple used for the back and ribs. Bright light brown varnish over a golden yellow ground with elaborate antiquing covers the flat arched instrument, to which the small scroll lends dainty character. In playing, this violin reveals its excellent sound quality and tonal strength, with bright, warm and open matured character that is somewhat sweet. Crackfree, with playing marks and a dark retouch mark on the back in good condition we offer the "Maggini Violin" with special recommendation, ready to play immediately.
