Antique German violin from a small Saxon master workshop: mature craftsmanship down to the finest details and an exceptionally warm, bright, and powerful sound.

This antique violin from Markneukirchen in Saxony was made around 1920 based on a proven Stradivari model using traditional, meticulously executed handcrafting. Its quality suggests that it originated from a smaller Markneukirchen workshop, which was typical for instrument making in the Saxon Vogtland region at that time. The selection and processing of the exquisite tonewoods reveal a wealth of experience and a keen aesthetic and musical sensibility. The tasteful antique-style matt-gloss finish with its warm tone effectively highlights the exceptionally beautiful flame of the two-piece maple back. With interesting traces of use, as befits a good instrument that is more than 100 years old, this violin is in excellent condition; it has been thoroughly inspected in our workshop and prepared for playing. Musically, it impresses with a powerful and bright sound that is rich in overtones and has a warm character, precise in its playing, with perfect response and well balanced across the strings.
