A modern German violin by Fritz Rudolf & Andreas Placht. The instrument was made in 1959 in Eschwege on the model of Guarnerius. The violin is originally labelled. The woods are well selected: the top made of medium grained spruce, the one piece back of deeply flamed maple. The rich varnish is of a warm golden brown color with some minor signs of use (retouched). The violin is undamaged and crackfree. It is set up with a new bridge, soundpost and Pirastro strings and is in full playing condition. The strong powerful sound is bright, open and rich in overtones, highly resonant with some sweetness in the higher ranges.
