With this fine Parisian master violin from the 1940s, Daniel Moinel confirmed his standing as an heir to the influential Moinel-Cherpitel workshop: a magnificent achievement in contemporary French violin making with excellent sound, ideal for professional use by a soloist or concertmaster.
Powerful, radiant and assertive, this French master violin by Daniel Moinel has a warm and easily modulated sound with a mature and sweet voice – an instrument with outstanding characteristics that are ideal for professional musicians. Moinel crafted it in the late 1940s in Paris, where he had managed his own workshop since 1934 after having learned his trade from his uncle Louis Cherpitel in Mirecourt and his father Charles Moinel, who himself was the successor of Nicolas-Émile Cherpitel and the founder of the famous Moinel-Cherpitel workshop. Its transparent oil varnish is luminous and glossy in an unusually lovely orange-brown, elegantly corresponding to the aesthetic of the tone woods which were selected with great discernment. The striking flames of the one-piece maple back reflect the confident individuality of this instrument, as does the expressively carved scroll. Our experienced luthiers painstakingly set up this fine Daniel Moinel violin and saw its flawless condition for themselves; the instrument features its original label. We warmly recommend this remarkable concertmaster violin, which has been set up and made ready to play and qualifies for our trade-in guarantee.
