An ancient Neuner & Hornsteiner violin of best Mittenwald quality and timeless beauty

This Neuner & Hornsteiner violin with a Mathias Neuner No. 94 label is a 19th century violin of rare beauty, made on the Stradivari model with flat archings. Interesting tonewoods from the Karwendel mountain region were used for this violin with its remarkably beautiful two-piece spruce top. The dark red toned varnish is patinated and shows several traces of use, and with its high age the violin appears matured and very sophisticated. This highly interesting violin from Mittenwald is (with a minor repair to the left soundhole and a pegbox repair) in very good condition and features a definitely convincing sound: bright, warm, open, cultivated, precise, somewhat sweet and highly differentiated.
