From the possession of a deceased professional musician comes this unusually beautiful antique German violin, made around 1900 in Saxony. It was played as a practice instrument besides two rare violins, and its exceptional sound characteristics give a hint as to the high demands of its previous owner: With its warm, open tone, strong and clear, yet textured and rounded, its sound is superior to most instruments of its class. The beautiful tonewoods are especially attractive and of quality, the maple of the back and ribs is highly and deeply flamed. Small elegant soundholes, corners that are rounded in the style of Italian violins and the well-cut scroll show experienced craftsmanship. With a well-made made pegbox repair, the violin is now in fine playing condition and features an outstanding tone of character and strength.
