This fine French violin with a slim neck was made in the Collin-Mézin ateliers in Mirecourt in 1950. The violin still has the original bridge by Collin-Mezin which is stamped accordingly and bears the original Collin-Mezin label and is further signed no. 21 indicating the model. The model is moderately arched, the arch is very typical for Collin-Mezin fils violins. The top is made of medium grained spruce, the two piece back of deeply flamed maple. This interesting Collin-Mezin violin is offered in nearly unused, crackfree and perfect condition. The sound is bright and ringing, of good power and strength. This fine antique violin in rare condition projects very easily and has a delicate and well balanced tone and deserves our special recommendation in the price range. Like all old violins and bows from us this includes Corilon's trade-guarantee and an optional certificate of appraisal.
