The rapid response and precise, radiant sound of this French violin by Georges Apparut, which was crafted in 1934 and bears the original label, meets the highest standards of modern French violin making. Many of its characteristics indicate the unmistakable style of Georges Apparut, whose Mirecourt studio was a refuge of good craftsmanship. The attractive oil varnish and the well-selected premium tone woods reflect the traditional values of the instrument-making culture which this old-fashioned master honoured. His employees and students did the same, and an unusually high number of them went on to become highly-respected luthiers who served as a counterpoint to the dramatic expansion of industrially manufactured musical instruments in their day. This Georges Apparut violin is originally labelled, it was patterned after a Guarnerius model and is offered with no cracks or repairs in top condition after having been meticulously worked over by our violin makers. It is compelling because of the attractive aesthetic of its mildly-flamed one-piece back and the expressive appearance of its scroll. Most of all, however, this French Apparut violin stands out because of its clear and fluid soloist voice which is exceptionally well balanced, creating multi-facetted options for musical interpretation.
