This old French violin was made by the highly-regarded Mirecourt violin maker Albert Deblaye; it has an original label indicating the origin. The intense interplay of colours on the deep flames of the maple back have a dramatic aesthetic effect thanks to the skill with which the reddish-brown spirit-oil varnish was applied; it reflects a poised individuality the likes of which are rarely seen, even amongst the multi-facetted world of Mirecourt violins. Delicate narrow soundhole and some traces of use complement the exceptionally lovely look of this Albert Deblaye violin, which reflects the high artisanal standards of a experienced and confident master. One very expressive detail is the exquisite purfling along the accentuated edges. Our luthiers received this instrument in undamaged and outstanding condition and set it up completely, making it ready to play. We warmly recommend this Albert Deblaye violin because of the brilliance of its mature, sweet voice full of timbre.
