Mirecourt is the origin of this pretty and characterful French violin with exceptionally mature, large tone in the price range. The instrument around 1920 was very likely made in the Collin-Mezin ateliers or an associated workshop in Mirecourt, following the Collin-Mezin model for Collin-Mezin. Very typical for Mirecourt instruments of the early 20th century is the elegance of the model and the sound holes and the elaboration of the arching. The transparent orange-brown varnish with traces of playing determines the antique appearance of the violin. The overall condition of this beautiful French violin is good, small repairs in the bridge area have been carefully checked by our luthiers. The violin is offered ready to play at sodner price, like all Corilon instruments it has been extensively overhauled by our luthiers and fitted with new strings. The characterful sound is big, warm, clear, full of juice and balanced across the strings.
