This quality German concert violin was built for export to English speaking countries, carved on the back of the pegbox: "Concert Violin Straduarius". This violin provides good evidence why these instruments were highly sought-after especially in the U.S. for their good craftsmanship and musical qualities. The nice and slim model, that truly follows the patterns of Antonio Stradivari, finely crafted edges and purfling and a gracefully designed large scroll are the eyecatching work of an experienced hand. The very transparent golden-brown colored varnish features skillfully applied antique touches and underlines the beauty of the quality tonewoods that were carefully chosen. Some varnish flaws, flaws to the edges and traces of use are common for old violins, and aside from that this piece is preserved crackfree in excellent condition. Our violin makers worked over this violin completely and made it ready to express its large and warm bright sound with best precision.
