This antique violin from Saxony was built in the 1900's and is a very successfully crafted instrument after Guarneri patterns. With its very slim neck (fingerboard width at neck 2.5 cm), it is an instrument especially suitable for players with small fingers. The medium grained spruce of the top and the flamed maple of the back are chosen by an obviously experienced violin maker, who built this instrument with outstanding craftsmanship. The violin is an excellent reference of his skills and features a well-crafted arching and a carefully inlaid purfling. The antique varnish is of interesting, antique character, that is determined by the contrast of the brown varnish and the light ground. The violin has been meticulously worked over in our atelier and is offered crackfree, ready to play. It features a recommendable dark, powerful voice, with mature character and precision, full of volume in the lower ranges and with beautiful resonance in the upper ranges.
