Old violin from Mittenwald - neat workmanship and a solid, strong sound

This violin from Mittenwald in Bavaria is a clear work of solid craftsmanship, that was handmade in the  20th century around 1940. It is probably a young journeyman's work that was made under the supervision of the master, which can be seen in the overall good technical concept of this good sounding instrument. The spruce that was used for the top is medium grained, a beautiful tonewood from the Karwendel mountains, just as the beautiful maple of the one-piece back, which has been cut from the slab. The attractive orange-brown colored varnish bears many traces from playing but no serious issue affect the quality of this good instrument that features a flat arching. This old Mittenwald violin was worked over meticulously by our luthiers. This recommendable Mittenwald violin is offered ready to unfold its powerful, clear, mature, and in the upper ranges ringing and singing bright sound.
