Old violin from Mittenwald - quality workmanship and an outstanding sound in the price range

Attention: The violin is delivered with a black fine tuning tailpiece

This violin from Mittenwald in Bavaria is a clear work of solid craftsmanship, that was handmade in the early 20th century around 1920. It is probably a young talented journeyman's work that was made under the supervision of the master, which can be seen in the overall good technical concept of this good sounding instrument. The spruce that was used for the top is medium grained, a beautiful tonewood from the Karwendel mountains, just as the beautiful maple of the two-piece back. The attractive red-brown colored varnish bears many traces from playing but no serious issue affect the quality of this good instrument that features a flat arching. Two small repairs are located at the left upper sound hole pin and have mo effect whatsoever on the sound or stability of the violin. This old Mittenwald violin has a sound post patch and was worked over meticulously by our luthiers. This recommendable Mittenwald violin is offered ready to unfold its powerful, clear, mature, and in the upper ranges ringing and singing bright sound. Low budget violin with a great sound suitable for professional use.
