Master violin by Kurt Gütter, Markneukirchen – official artist's instrument with original certificate

Kurt Gütter (1894–1991) was a multi-talented violin maker from Markneukirchen who trained under Oskar Bernhard Heinel. From the 1950s onwards, he specialized in making the finest master violins and won numerous awards in international violin making competitions in this genre. The master violin offered here was made shortly before Gütter became the first recipient of the 1st Class Honorary Prize for Musical Instrument Making in the GDR, and it represents the most mature phase of work by this master, who remained productive into his old age. The richly glossy, orange-brown oil varnish allows the beautiful grain of the narrow to medium-grained spruce top and the strong, deep flaming of the two-piece maple back to shine in their immaculate splendor, and the brilliant, warm, and well-supported sound proves these high-quality tonewoods to be an excellent choice acoustically as well. Built as a custom instrument for a collector, it has never been played and is in excellent, mint condition, as confirmed by our violin makers during a thorough inspection, during which it was prepared for playing. Free shipping, 30-day return policy, and Corilon's trade-in guarantee.
