Based on the violin model by Giuseppe Guarneri del Gesù, famous for its strong sound, this beautiful and extremely cleanly crafted violin was made in Markneukirchen. Its characteristic warm-toned transparent light brown varnish over a golden yellow ground identifies it as an instrument from the Saxon violin making town of Markneukirchen, where it was made around 1930, perhaps a bit earlier. The high general quality, the carefully carved scroll and the well pierced soundholes indicate the craftsman's experience. The top is made of regular, medium grained spruce and the two-piece, deeply flamed maple back is decorated with a finely crafted purfling. The superior quality of this German Giuseppe Guarneri del Gesu violin suggests that it is the work of an experienced, older violin maker, as is evidenced not least by the strong sound of the violin, which has been made ready to play in our violin making workshop, and which unfolds clearly with a mature character. Received crackfree and undamaged. Includes Corilon's trade-in guarantee and an optional certificate of appraisal
