This beauty of an old violin is a thoroughly crafted instrument that was built after the patterns of Joseph Guarneri del Gesù, a violin model that is sought after for its strong sound properties. The characteristical, warm golden-brown colored varnish indicates the violin's origin from the traditional violin making town Markneukirchen in Saxony, where it was crafted in or before the 1900s. The overall premium quality, the precisely carved scroll and the well-cut soundholes are the clear work of an experienced hand. The unknown violin maker decorated the regular, medium grained spruce of the top and the beautifully flamed maple of the two-piece back with a highly transparent golden-brown varnish that shows beautiful antiqueings. The premium quality of this Markneukirchen violin after Guarneri and its strong sound introduce a mature violin that is well preserved withhout any repairs and after having been worked over and set up in our atelier offered ready to play. Its dark, powerful tone is matured, balanced and rich in overtones.
