Italian violin by Giampiero Farina – exceptionally beautiful instrument with a lovely sound, made in 2012

This exceptionally beautiful Italian Giampiero Farina violin is a young instrument that is unmistakably committed to the classic Cremonese violin-making tradition. With its visual appeal and the beauty of its warm, bright and sweet sound, it is second to none in this price range.

Giampiero Farina was a student of Maestro Massimo Negroni, one of the most inspiring and influential teachers at the famous violin-making school of Cremona. After completing his training, he initially gained experience in various workshops in Cremona, creating, among other things, sophisticated interpretations of classic Italian violins for outstanding international musicians. He then worked for the Atelier Lanini & Natolini in Locarno for many years. Since 2010 he has been running his own atelier in Cecina, Tuscany, where he crafts instruments like the violin offered here; with its radiant, warm and full sound of a pleasantly sweet character, this work exemplifies the unbroken musical relevance of Cremonese violin making. Made of maple with a strong, elegant flaming and fine- to medium-grained spruce of the highest quality, this Giampiero Farina violin represents the work of an interesting, still little-known Italian master of recent times, who has mastered his art supremely, down to details such as the perfectly executed purfling. The rich, light oil varnish of a beautiful golden-orange-brown color tastefully complements the instrument's structural and tonal qualities. Despite its young age, this fully played-in violin, one of the rare instruments with a slightly reduced back length of 35.5 cm, is in pristine condition, having been set up and made ready to play by the experts at our workshop.
