Featuring a powerful sound with an unmistakably Italian character, this Markneukirchen master violin will meet the highest musical standards. It was crafted in the mid 20th century and resembles the style of Italian liuatio Iginio Sderci. Its maker meticulously and skillfully produced this highly attractive violin by hand, closely following the original, as is quite evident in the overall pattern, exceptionally delicate edgework and purfling with a strikingly elegant bee-sting that extends deep into the corners. The high-quality tone woods, the two-piece back with deep flames and the luminous orange-rot spirit oil varnish with subtle crackling give this unusually lovely Iginio Sderci copy an air of authenticity in every way. There is great evidence indicating that the craftsman had an Iginio Sderci original at hand whilst creating this instrument, that bears no label. Iginio Sderci himself came from Siena, where he first worked as a woodcarver and came to the art of violin making as an autodidact. Thanks to the excellent training he received from one of the most important masters of his day, Leandro Bisiach, Iginio Sderci reached great heights in his artisanry, and his ateliers he maintained in his home town as well as workshops in Florence after that helped him establish a reputation which lives on to this day. The enthusiasm which demanding musicians all around the world have shown towards Sdercis instruments is rooted in the inimitable character of their classically Italian inspiration and the precision which Iginio Sderci demonstrated with every piece he made. This sense of profound appreciation is perfectly manifest in this violin. After having carefully set this beautiful Sderci copy up at our specialist atelier, as all Corilon instruments, we have made it ready to play and recommend it because of its clear, large sound with a mellow note – the ultimate tribute to an outstanding luthier.
