This German violin by Meinel & Herold is an unlabeled instrument - or more likely the label was removed - it was built approx. 1930 and is recommendable for orchestral use due to its very good sound properties. The relatively wide model corresponds to the premium "Artist violin" (Künstlervioline) models by Meinel & Herold. It is patterned after Nicolo Amati, a typical top tier design of the renowned Markneukirchen workshops of Meinel & Herold. Spruce with medium, regular grain was chosen for the top, flamed maple for the one-piece back. The bright golden-yellow varnish is very transparent and underlines the beautiful premium tonewoods. With some traces of use as they are common for old and often played instruments this violin is preserved in undamaged condition. It was like all Corilon instruments worked over completely by our expert luthiers and is offered ready to play. The well-balanced sound of this beautiful violin is powerful and nright, a clear ringing voice that is strong and loud - recommended.
