Old German orchestra violin, warm tones

This quality and elegant orchestral violin was made around 1940 with good craftsmanship; it is a handsome, well preserved German instrument whose beautiful light brown varnish shows some signs from playing. The violin has a "Helmut Möckel" label and branding, which we cannot verify at this time. The purfling made in the Saxon style, an elegant small scroll and soundholes make for a very appealing, rounded appearance. Our experienced luthier has thoroughly reworked this useful and solid orchestral violin and made it ready to play. The bright and clear voice is rich in overtones and unfolds with good power and clarity.
